Unit 10 design is an award-winning product design consultancy located in central Copenhagen. Founded in 1999, Unit 10 design takes a collaborative approach to developing products, furniture, interaction and space design.
We enjoy the challenge of turning strategies into viable products, exploring a lot of ideas and taking technical and production details into consideration during the early design stages. We work with some of the leading manufacturers of Scandinavian design, tapping our knowledge of market trends and passion to create beautiful, functional, and innovative solutions. Our aim is to always create results that are relevant today and for the future, for the people and for our clients.
Francis Cayouette has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the University of Montreal, and 20 years of experience in product design. His past work in Canada provided much valuable experience in all aspects of the design development process—setting the foundation for his hands-on approach. Since establishing himself in the Nordic region, Francis has set himself apart by fusing a fresh new perspective with the established conventions of Scandinavian simplicity, humanism and functionality.
Francis has direct involvement in all stages of the projects. His realistic but highly creative approach includes working closely with the client to define the right strategy and using design as a tool throughout the development process. Francis understands the importance of listening, and has a strong sense of what is relevant for the end user. This allows him to transform input from all parties throughout the process into smart solutions that work.
